I’m a published author, writer, editor, and translator with nearly 15 years experience in typing up both the fanciful and the concise.
In the past, I’ve worked as a copywriter, a content editor, subtitler, and a document controller – but my approach differs that of your average typist. I offer traditional, investigative content tailored to your audience. If you’d like to know more about me, read on here.
If you’re looking for great content tailored to your audience, I can help you with copywriting, editing, proofreading, web design, and (some) photography.
Want to work on a project with me?
Below is a small selection of some of my favourite work. Browse investigative/research pieces, interviews, reviews, fiction samples, and short how-to articles.
In 2015 my writing was published as part of Anthony Turano’s Stockings Project. As of January 2016 I completed a new iteration of Skills Development Scotland’s Our Skillsforce website.
In June 2016 my debut YA fantasy novel The Tree of Nine Worlds, first in The Chronicle of Legends series, was published globally on Amazon. The second book in the series, Twice the Past Princess is planned for publication in December 2017.
I’ve also developed websites for St Matthew’s RC Church in Bishopbriggs, and my upcoming wedding. I’d be happy to create a website for you, so please get in touch if that’s something you’d be interested in.
“Julia has been a spectacular addition to our team. Usually you hire a contract copywriter and they write your content, do the job and it’s all fine. But very rarely, somebody of Julia’s calibre comes along to blow all your expectations out of the water. Julia’s copy is always bang-on. She takes the time to get beneath the skin of requirements and to really focus on who the audience is. We’ve thrown a number of highly-varied challenges at her, and in every case she has not only risen to meet them, but excelled.” – Tom Nash, Three UK
“Julia is a committed and masterly writer, with an eye for detail and a passion for her subject.” – Anthony Moore, The Orient News
“Julia took to the task of news gathering and writing as if to the manner born, always pro-active and enthusiastic. With her very, and deceptively disarming approach, she was able to get stories that many more experienced colleagues could not, and she wrote them up with a natural flare and grace.” – Roger Harrison, Arab News
